Meet Kendall Ashley

Get to know a bit more about the writer and editor behind Kendall Ashley Creative

Writing, Editing, and Nerd Stuff

Kndall worked at various imprints at Penguin Random House for over five and a half years. During her time at PRH she helped concept and write a line of best-selling, inspirational adult coloring books and interactive journals, and she led a team focused on creating and marketing books for the millennial market. In 2018, she left to focus on launching her own content editing and content creation business, Kendall Ashley Creative. Since leaving PRH, she has worked on fiction and non-fiction books, partnering with self-published, hybrid-published, and traditionally published authors as an editor, writer coach, and ghostwriter, and writer. She’s also gotten the opportunity to write a book of her own, Be More Captain Marvel. The officially licensed Marvel book came out with DK Books in July of 2023.

Entertainment Journalism

As a journalist, she wrote for several entertainment and lifestyle outlets in print and online. Her writing can be found on websites like Nerdist, HelloGiggles, Geek & Sundry, Hypable, The Mary Sue, and more. Her entertainment journalism career also gave her the opportunity to appear on several podcasts as well as panels at both Fan Expo Denver (formerly known as Denver Comic-Con) and San Diego Comic-Con. You can check out some of her podcast and panel appearances on her media page, and you can check out some of her older writing on her blog.

Ghostwriter and Editor

Kendall also has a passion for ghostwriting and has worked with both individuals and organizations to bring their stories to life. She has ghostwritten personal memoirs, teaching/lifestyle books on behalf of both individuals and organizations, and fiction titles. You can see some of those books on her portfolio page, but she is always working on new projects, so don’t hesitate to ask about any of the book she’s currently ghosting! If you’d like to talk about working together, don’t hesitate to reach out!

As an editor, she partners with authors who are writing everything from fiction to romance, high fantasy to interactive books, middle-grade adventure to personal memoir, and everything in between. She works on projects that are as straightforward as a proofread all the way up to in-depth projects like writer coaching and developmental edits. But regardless of the scope of the project, she loves the editorial process and helping an author create the best content they can. You can see some of her past work on Kendall’s portfolio page.

Outside of work, you can find Kendall drinking copious amounts of iced coffee, watching reruns of a show she’s watched a zillion times, playing video games, reading far too late into the night, or enjoying time with her family.
